Disconnect hayward power-flo pump power cord to motor.
Unscrew the strainer housing C.C.W. from the housing cover.
Replace the strainer o-ring.
Unscrew the housing cover bolts.
pull the housing cover off of the Pump Housing.
Hold motor armature from turning by taking a 7/16" wrench to the rear of motor and wiggle wrench into center of shaft BEHIND spinning spring mechanism.
Unscrew Hayward Impeller C.C.W.,this may be very tight at first.
then slide spring loaded part of seal off of the neck of the impeller and slide the new seal on the impeller neck
Unscrew the 4 Motor securing bolts at the rear of the motor and then the Pump housing will come off of the front of the motor.
Push the clear seal part out of the back of Pump HOUSING center.
Replace clear seal housing with o-ring,put small amount of silicone on o-ring and press into housing.
Make sure clear seal housing and black o-ring press all the way down into the pump housing.
Then silicone rubber part, of white ceramic SEAL SEAT and press them into housing.
White ceramic faces impeller side.
Then screw Pump Housing back onto motor
Then screw impeller back onto motor shaft without overtightening it.
Spin impeller and if it wobbles, replace it as it WILL leak water.
If o/k install housing o-ring and housing cover
Then after filling the power-flo pump with water or running the motor NO water should leak out between the pump and motor.
If it does it will wipe out the motor over time as water will walk back the motor shaft and ruin the front bearing and windings of the hayward pump motor.

We do not recomend rebuilding these hayward superpump motors as they will not last. The winding laminations ( steel case around motor windings ) expand over time and eventually touch the windings and cause a short and motor failure
